Few basses have the legacy that a Rickenbacker 4001 has.  Touring bassists have relied on this model for decades, and they're one of the most recorded-with basses in history. So yeah, they're reliable, versatile, road-worthy, and monstrous sounding, but add in the fact that they look ridiculously cool and you've got the total package. Clean vintage examples that aren't full of excuses are hard to find, so act quickly on this one!

This bass rocks! The original tuners work perfectly, both truss rods work in both directions, and the original frets have a ton of life left. No cracks, no headstock fractures, no finish overspray, no body joint repairs and no surprises. This one passed a blacklight test with ease! All four pots date to 1980, both original pickups are healthy, and the bridge mute works perfectly, thanks to a fresh foam pad. The Rick-O-Sound Stereo output works and is more fun to use than expected. The pickguard has a few cracks that have been glued shut, but nothing abnormal for a Ric that is 44 years old. Overall, this is one of the cleanest Ric basses from this era that we have had our hands on in quite a while. There is some missing paint, but not in an ugly way. Does that make sense? The paint chips on this tell the story, and whoaaaaa does this thing give off all sorts of mojo.

Freshly setup and restring in our pro shop! A newer Ric hardshell case is included.
