The 1950 Silvertone Archtop in Sunburst finish is a vintage guitar that stands out for its classic American craftsmanship and classy looks. This model first appeared in the Fall-Winter 1950 Sears Catalog. A shot of the original catalog entry is in the photo section for your reference. A physical copy of the catalog IS NOT included with the sale of this guitar.

This guitar remains entirely untouched with no modifications. 100% intact Silvertones from this early Archtop period just don't pop up for sale that often! Boasting a straight neck, minimal fretwear that isn't affecting intonation, fully functional original electronics, and intact Celluloid binding, pickguard, headstock veneer, and pickup ring. The original Gibson P13 pickup is healthy and runs quiet. The correct neck angle and solid construction contribute to its reliable playability and durability. This model has actual figured Maple wood. This is not wood grain that has been sprayed on. It's real wood! We've inspected the internal structure with a borescope and scanned the finish with a blacklight. No issues were found and no signs of previous surgery were visible, which is rather remarkable on a Silvertone that is almost 75 years old. This guitar has a lot going for it, and opportunities to acquire this model in this nice of condition do not happen often!

While the (likely original) chipboard case shows wear, the guitar itself has been professionally set up and cleaned, and plays with low action and is a real treat to play.
